Drywall is done!

This afternoon I took my parents, sister, brother in law, niece, nephew and the girls to the house before my sister and her family move away on Wednesday. (That's a whole other story that I can't talk about now. I keep pretending like its not going to happen!)
Since I was there last they have finished the drywall and tape/mud as well as the rounded corners. Here are some pictures:

Hopefully the walls get textured and painted this week!!! And no more rain for a little while! We have been getting slammed with rain and storms the past few weeks. But there's 10 days of sunshine in our forecast so hopefully the weatherman is right!!!!

And let there be dry wall!

For Mother's Day the girls got me 2 Satsuma trees. If you don't know what satsumas are they're like the little cutie oranges. Only 1,000 better! We could seriously eat 12 a day! I'm so excited we have some land now and have plenty of room to plant fruits and veggies. These trees are just the beginning!

They also finally finished our water well. I think they ended up having to drill 680 feet down! The bad news is you have to pay for every foot they drill. The good news is no water bill so "free" water now!

This is the water tank in the garage.

Electricity was completely finished!

And the stone was delivered!!

Last week the foam insulation was done. This is looking up into the garage ceiling.

And finally what I've been waiting for! Today we went out there and ta-da.......................

When we decided we were going to build a house there were a few things I wanted to do: write scriptures on the walls and place a Bible in the foundation.

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock."  Matthew 7:24

We decided to put the Bible my Grandparents gave us in the walls of our house instead of the foundation so that maybe one day someone will find it. My Grandparents highlighted some of their favorite verses and wrote us a nice note inside. Then I sealed it up in a ziplock bag, wrote our names on it and May 2015. The dry wall was already completed by the front door by the time we got there so we placed it by the garage door. The kind gentleman that was installing the dry wall asked if he'd like me to have him hang it with a nail. So he nailed it to one of the studs. This is one of those special touches that I LOVE about our house!

We also had some dirt work done in the front yard to fill it in and even it out. It made a huge difference!

Its so nice to "see" some changes again! For so long you couldn't see a whole lot of changes while they were putting in the electrical, plumbing and A/C. But walking in today I couldn't wipe the HUGE grin off of my face. It was another huge step towards out dream home being finished and proof that we WILL get to actually live here soon!!

Eletrical, Plumbing and HVAC is complete!

We've been moving a long since last time. Although visually you can't see a whole lot of difference, we now have all of the electrical, plumbing and HVAC complete!

On April 28th I got to meet with the custom cabinet maker to design and lay out my kitchen! That part was really exciting! I can't wait to see it once it's finished. I know its going to be my favorite room in the house!

(I don't know why but these pictures won't rotate! But they're the cabinet maker's sketch of what we designed)

We finally got my parents back to the house to see the changes after they had been gone for nearly a month! The last time they saw it there wasn't even a foundation! Here they are with Kate in her room.

I made the final selection on our wood floors! This will be throughout the whole main areas (formal dining, living, kitchen, breakfast area). We wanted something rustic looking so its a mid toned, hand scraped look with the 2 different sizes of planks.

We've started our water well!! They will have to go around 560 feet they think to get to some really good water. I'm excited about not having a water bill!!! Whoop whoop!

We went out to the house after spending the day with our family. Happy Mother's Day to me!! I love these girls and can't wait to watch them grow up here! (All of that behind us is our back yard!!)
