Texture, Paint, Septic, Tile and Yard Work!

Wednesday they came in an put the orange peel texture on the walls.

Thursday they started putting in the septic tank.

Friday I took my Mom to the flooring store to really narrow down the tile for the Master Bath. I think I finally decided on this one.

Here you can see it with a dark cabinet door, like we'll have in the bathrooms, the paint color for the walls, and the small tiles we're going to put on the shower floor.

And then Saturday the ceiling got painted the color Heron Plume, by Sherwin Williams. You can see in this picture that its a little more than an off-white. Its suppose to be a very light greige. (I had to explain to my builder what greige is. He claims its because he is a builder and not a designer!)

The walls also got primed on Saturday and will hopefully be painted this week. I chose (after much debate and consultation) on the color Versatile Gray by Sherwin Williams.

Saturday night the kids went to my parents house and for "date night" we worked in the yard!

I know it doesn't look like much happened in this picture, but do you see that line of sticks and dirt on the right. Yeah that was what the result was after I spent 3 1/2 hours raking all of the sticks and dirt clumps from the back porch to that point. Then I went and mowed "the grass" in that area. It resulted in one monstrous blister, aching hands, forearms and lower back, but it made me proud! Its a work in progress but it was nice to be able to do some yard work.
Matt and the neighbor down the road cleared out this area. It had a large pile of debris and random logs and branches. They pushed it back, cleared it out and burned the pile.

Sunday night we took the new toy out and road through the woods.

And then today the septic tank was completed.

This week the walls should get painted and trim and cabinets should get started! Unfortunately we found out today that our brick did not turn out just right so they have to start over and it should be delivered the 22nd.
I asked our builder last week what kind of time line we were looking at for this point and he's thinking we should have the keys around the first of August. We're getting there!
